- What are the requirements to receive an adoption grant from Open Hearts for Orphans?
- Open Hearts for Orphans asks that applicants be from the Chicago area and have already researched the adoption process and the associated fees and expenses. Applicants will be asked to write a statement of faith and disclose detailed financial information.
- How long will it take my grant application to be processed?
- The processing times vary, depending on the number of applications we receive. We will make every effort to respond to your application as quickly as possible.
- Will I get a response regarding my application, even if I'm not getting a grant?
- Yes, we will respond to all applications sent to us. If you make it to the next step in the application process, then we will contact you for further information. If your application is rejected, you will receive a letter.
- If my application is accepted, what is the next step?
- One of our staff will contact you regarding the next step. We will either request more information or try to set up an interview.
- Is my personal information on my grant application kept confidential?
- Absolutely! We do not share, sell, or rent any of your information to third parties, in accordance with our privacy policy. However, we may keep your application on file for our records to comply with applicable state laws and regulations.
- If my application is rejected, may I apply again at a future date?
- We take all applications on an individual basis. If you want to try again at a future date, we request you wait at least one year before trying again due to the number of applications we receive.
